{ Deals for days }

So apparently DSW has been having a huge clearance sale and I just happened to go at the right time.
Obviously they are retiring the masses of heels and bringing out the best boots ever.
A part of me wishes I could have every boot in the world.
But in light of boot season, I got an awesome deal of these super cute BCBG heels.

I love love love them, and they're oh-so comfy.
(Like our bright red leather couch)
They were a whole 50% off!
I highly recommend stopping by soon!
Just wanted to share with you =)

{ Redhook Brewery }

Yesterday was a great day!
Justin and I were lucky enough to have the day off and sunshine.
After a few hours of busy work we headed out to the Redhook Brewery in Woodinville.
Sadly, this was my first time. You know how it is, when something is in your backyard but you never go/see it.
This was one of those days I could cross off a to-do in your own neck of the woods (well, kinda).

We didn't go with any other intentions but eating to be honest.
But of course we had to do the tour after hearing it was only a dollar and it came with a free glass and lots of beer!
We also were drawn to the familiar feeling of a brewery tour, since our last was at Heineken in Amsterdam =).

It wasn't as intense at the Heineken tour, but the guide was funny and the history a little familiar.
The above picture is of the original Redhook brewery in Ballard, right on Leary below the bridge =).
They later moved from Ballard to Fremont,
and then out to Woodinville where they built the monstrosity of a brewery (or otherwise the Redhook campus).

We had some good laughs and lots of beer.
So much beer that I completely forgot to take pics of our yummy food.
Blackened salmon burger and pulled pork, yuummm!
I was in a great mood to say the least.
Afterwords we stopped for some fabulous home-made ice cream =)
So guilty. Vanilla cherry and the classic choco-chip mint.

{ Nine-Eleven }

As anyone could tell, I've been quit the slacker on keeping up with my posts.
Ever since coming home from Europe I just haven't been able to put my mind anywhere else.
But I'm determined to change that.

This is my little post dedicated to 9/11 that I wish I could have posted on the actual day.
My time was spent driving home form Pullman, watching football, and the array of 9/11 shows on tv.
I must say, I had goosebumps most of the day.

I'm sure most of us can remember where we were, and what we were doing on that dreaded morning.
I walked in on my parents stunned faces, while they were sitting on their bed just blankly staring at the tv.
I struggled to comprehend. In some ways I wish I had been a little older.

Later that day, my family and other neighborhood friends rallied on our busy street with flags, candles, and home-made signs. We waved and chanted as every car drove by, receiving endless honks. That was a good feeling.

A couple years later, I took my first trip to New York.
Lucky enough, mom had business to do and her company set us up at the famous Waldorf-Astoria.
I will never forget the marble-encased bathroom and floor-to-ceiling windows.
The grandeur of the hotel was breathtaking and the history unforgettable.
We took a tour of the famous ballroom and learned about the unknown train station underground,
allowing presidents to come up from WA D.C. and stay at the hotel without being seen.

While in Manhattan we visited ground zero.
Even though it was five years later, the rubble and destruction were still fresh.
I remember looking straight down into the empty whole where workers and machinery were clearing away.
The surrounding buildings still had construction drapes covering gaping holes and  burnt interiors.
Fences were covered in memories.

We left New York with these two pieces of art.
They have been hanging in our house for six years and I love them.
Every day I walk into my bedroom, I can still see the twin towers.

Peace and Love to America. You will never be forgotten <3
