{ Deals for days }

So apparently DSW has been having a huge clearance sale and I just happened to go at the right time.
Obviously they are retiring the masses of heels and bringing out the best boots ever.
A part of me wishes I could have every boot in the world.
But in light of boot season, I got an awesome deal of these super cute BCBG heels.

I love love love them, and they're oh-so comfy.
(Like our bright red leather couch)
They were a whole 50% off!
I highly recommend stopping by soon!
Just wanted to share with you =)

{ Redhook Brewery }

Yesterday was a great day!
Justin and I were lucky enough to have the day off and sunshine.
After a few hours of busy work we headed out to the Redhook Brewery in Woodinville.
Sadly, this was my first time. You know how it is, when something is in your backyard but you never go/see it.
This was one of those days I could cross off a to-do in your own neck of the woods (well, kinda).

We didn't go with any other intentions but eating to be honest.
But of course we had to do the tour after hearing it was only a dollar and it came with a free glass and lots of beer!
We also were drawn to the familiar feeling of a brewery tour, since our last was at Heineken in Amsterdam =).

It wasn't as intense at the Heineken tour, but the guide was funny and the history a little familiar.
The above picture is of the original Redhook brewery in Ballard, right on Leary below the bridge =).
They later moved from Ballard to Fremont,
and then out to Woodinville where they built the monstrosity of a brewery (or otherwise the Redhook campus).

We had some good laughs and lots of beer.
So much beer that I completely forgot to take pics of our yummy food.
Blackened salmon burger and pulled pork, yuummm!
I was in a great mood to say the least.
Afterwords we stopped for some fabulous home-made ice cream =)
So guilty. Vanilla cherry and the classic choco-chip mint.

{ Nine-Eleven }

As anyone could tell, I've been quit the slacker on keeping up with my posts.
Ever since coming home from Europe I just haven't been able to put my mind anywhere else.
But I'm determined to change that.

This is my little post dedicated to 9/11 that I wish I could have posted on the actual day.
My time was spent driving home form Pullman, watching football, and the array of 9/11 shows on tv.
I must say, I had goosebumps most of the day.

I'm sure most of us can remember where we were, and what we were doing on that dreaded morning.
I walked in on my parents stunned faces, while they were sitting on their bed just blankly staring at the tv.
I struggled to comprehend. In some ways I wish I had been a little older.

Later that day, my family and other neighborhood friends rallied on our busy street with flags, candles, and home-made signs. We waved and chanted as every car drove by, receiving endless honks. That was a good feeling.

A couple years later, I took my first trip to New York.
Lucky enough, mom had business to do and her company set us up at the famous Waldorf-Astoria.
I will never forget the marble-encased bathroom and floor-to-ceiling windows.
The grandeur of the hotel was breathtaking and the history unforgettable.
We took a tour of the famous ballroom and learned about the unknown train station underground,
allowing presidents to come up from WA D.C. and stay at the hotel without being seen.

While in Manhattan we visited ground zero.
Even though it was five years later, the rubble and destruction were still fresh.
I remember looking straight down into the empty whole where workers and machinery were clearing away.
The surrounding buildings still had construction drapes covering gaping holes and  burnt interiors.
Fences were covered in memories.

We left New York with these two pieces of art.
They have been hanging in our house for six years and I love them.
Every day I walk into my bedroom, I can still see the twin towers.

Peace and Love to America. You will never be forgotten <3

While watching the Pianist (film referring to the Holocaust) in class,
I couldn't help but diverge my mind into a happier place.
I found this photo that a friend posted and had to share it as well =)

In the simplest form...it is a girls heaven.

{ Keep Sakes }

My friend Mollie took this picture in my room.
It includes the flowers and valentines day vase that Justin gave me.
Therefor I stuck my favorite picture of us in it =).
I thought I would post it as a keep-sake.

This past weekend I went to Spokane with some girlfriends.
It was originally planned so that I could get my hair done, but of course my favorites wanted to come along =)
We started with drinks, then went to our friend Ashley's apartment where we were going to stay.
She then drove us to go shopping which was much needed and I found some great finds for Europe.
Afterwards we went to P.F. Chengs for dinner and more drinks,
then continued the fun at Ashley's Apartment with more wine and amazing talks.
It was truly needed and I am sad to leave these girls in a few weeks.

P.S. The Lettuce wraps are to die for =)
I love you all!

Happy Holidays to the rest of you ;)

This is probably one of the coolest places I have ever seen.
I cant explain how badly I want this, or at least visit it.
Pure heaven in the jungle.

{ Deadliest Catch }

In honor of another Season Premier of Deadliest Catch tonight,
I thought I would share my small obsession =)
The obsession really stems from the fact that...
I live n Ballard, love crab/crabbing, and my whole family is fixated by it.

My signed tee, including Phil Harris

My favorite man at the Ballard Seafood fest

Our lucky day when we stumbled across the Northwestern after a boating outing through the cut and the locks.
If you can start the day without caffeine;
If you can get going without pep pills;
If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains;
If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles;
If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it;
If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time;
If you can forgive a friend's lack of consideration;
If you can overlook it when those you love take it out on you when,
   through no fault of your own, something goes wrong;
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment;
If you can ignore a friend's limited education and never correct him;
If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend;
If you can face the world without lies and deceit;
If you can conquer tension without medical help;
If you can relax without liquor;
If you can sleep without the aid of drugs;
If you can honestly say that deep in your heart you have no prejudice
   against creed or color, religion or politics; then, my friend, you are
   almost as good as your dog.

I miss my Andy with all my heart!

{ Be Thankful }

I found these two images on Post Secret today and couldn't help but sharing them.
As sad as they are, it makes me thankful and happy to be where I am in life.

I love Seattle and will never leave.
I also love my university and could never repay the experience it gave me.
Everything happens for a reason.

{ Inspire yourself }

Never give up =)

Two days ago I ordered my first pair of TOMS, and to say the least I am so excited for them to get here!
I also scheduled a hair appointment and shopping day in Spokane to prepare for Europe.

This is my favorite piece today. Forever 21 $3.50

Today is the day that mom gets here for our last moms weekend.
So sad but am so excited because its one of the best weekends of the year!
Massages and Tea planned tomorrow, then a bbq are pinkhouse.
And somewhere between the hangover and bed on saturday will be the infamous Moscow shoe sale!
Many pictures will be up after the weekend

{ Aquatint }

Yesterday I finished my first Aquatint print.
Mind you I also did my first one in three different colors on top of the original black.
Working with color and aquatint is fairly difficult and only two of us in the class did.
Therefor I am extra proud of these =)
Next step is to find the perfect sequence frame to put them in

This seemed appropriate for today; It is gorgeous in Pullman
and there is no excuse to not find happiness in the day.

Spring Break in Arizona

It has been awhile since I've written,
but for one obvious reason... Spring Break!

Instead of the usual college spring break with all of my crazy friends,
we chose the family route and jumped on a flight to follow the sun!
We had our minds previously set on following the snow, but by the time decision making happened, our hearts couldn't help dreaming of 90 degree weather.
Goodbye rain!

We headed to Phoenix to stay with friends for the first half of the week.
There is truly nothing that feels as great, inside and out, as when you step off of an airplane and get hit in the face with a heat wave.

Friends we stayed with had a pool and sandy beach in the complex!

The first couple of days we simply took advantage and did nothing.
Vodka was flowing and the temps hit the upper 80's.
We also took a trip down the block to have our first In n' Out. I must say I have strong burger opinions, living only 5 minutes from Dicks, but sadly enough I couldn't fully enjoy my cheeseburger because of a hangover =/. That is still something college has failed to teach me.

Also in store for our 'firsts' was a Mariners spring training game in Peoria.
What more could you ask for then baseball, sun, and beers?

Half way through the week we made our way down to Tucson to stay with the Grandparents in Saddlebrooke. They live in a golf community of over 5,000 homes on 27 holes.
My golfing heaven <3

St. Patty's day Dinner and also another 'first' of cornbeef and cabbage (Actually loved it!)

I also have to share my super-find from a second hand store my grandma took us to
Oscar De La Renta travel bags for $2.00 each!

After Tucson we made it back up to Phoenix to watch my litte cousin play baseball of the League of Dreams fields. Each field is actually a mini replica of different major league fields. We also visited a friend in Scottsdale and shopped around the area before we flew home.
A satisfying discovery in Scottsdale that my friend Katherine had once blogged about.
Mini Creme Brulee in a to-go cup! My all time favorite.

The love of a weekend

It's easy to say that the world-wide love for the weekend is powerful and endless.
It's wild to think of all of the things that are universally loved.
The weekend is in my top 5.
This one was particularly unproductive and somewhat uneventful, but it felt perfect as always.

It included a feast of greasy food at the Coug with my roommates.
Beer and food bonding is always needed and should happen more often.
While we were there I couldn't help my urge to mark out spot.

Friday and Saturday continued on with the usually nightly outings, seeing friends outside of class for once, and the never-ending urges to eat-out for every meal.

Today I wrapped up my lazy weekend with multiple movies while lying in bed,
including the Lion King.

I have also been working on a new Drypoint that I will hopefully get to print tomorrow..

P.S... My mom just sent me this with the caption "Always a cowgirl"
Oh what I would give to be a kid again
